About Us

We are a family run Hobby Farm, with a focus on raising happy animals for healthy eggs, milk, and meat.  We take great pride in our relationships with our livestock, the land, and the bees, and love learning to grow food for our animals and ourselves.  With a background in education, we most enjoy sharing our love of animals and art with the local community through classes on and off the Farm.  Join us for an Art class, or plan your own special event in our unique outdoor Farm setting!

Some of our Favorite Classes

Kinder Clay (ages 3-6) 1-1.5 hours

Kinder Clay class is the perfect opportunity for your 3-6 year old to explore the Farm, meet the animals, and create a clay masterpiece inspired by a different children’s book each class.

Class begins with a farm tour and animal feeding, before heading to the outdoor art classroom for some creative fun. Each class will feature a different children’s book read aloud, and used as inspiration for our art project.

We will work in clay, glaze the same day, and then leave the work to be fired in the kiln.  All projects will be available for pick up at the next class, or 2 weeks.  Consecutive classes are not required.

Elementary Clay (ages 6-9)  1.5-2 hours

A new clay project each class, we will learn and practice ceramic handbuilding techniques, and glaze our work in the same sitting.  Emphasis on independent design ideas and proper clay techniques.  We will make a variety of functional pieces and decorative sculpture.

Intermediate Clay (ages 8-12)  1.5-2 hours

For the more independent clay students, this class focuses on the deeper practice of clay  handbuilding techniques.  We find our inspiration in artists, current events, and Farm life.  Clay projects are designed to satisfy the age range, and use handbuilding techniques such as coil, slab, sculpting, puzzling, and more.

Students will learn a variety of glaze techniques as well as occasional alternative fun options to decorate the surface of ceramic work.

All finished projects will be kiln fired, and glazed at next attended class.  Consecutive classes not required.

Science on the Farm – Nature Study (ages 6-10, flexible)  1.5 hours

Explore everyday nature in this hands-on, science heavy Nature Study class.  The whole Farm, gardens, and woods are our classroom for art and adventure.  The art of sketching, drawing, and watercolor will be a particular focus for this class.  A portion of class each week will be dedicated to maintaining a personal Nature Journal.
