We pride ourselves on offering a variety of classes to enhance the Home School experience, we strive to connect children to the outdoors, through science, art, hands-on learning, and play.
Shaker’s Acres offers a unique outdoor creative experience, with an emphasis on art and science while taking advantage of the Farm environment. Each class begins with a farm tour to visit and feed the animals, before heading to the outdoor classroom to delve into an age appropriate hands-on experience. Inspiration comes from artists, books, and nature, and each class is a new experience!

Clay Classes
Kinder Clay (ages 3-6, 1-1.5 hours)
Art on the Farm Kinder Clay class is the perfect opportunity for your 3-6 year old to explore the Farm, meet the animals, and create a clay masterpiece inspired by a different children’s book each class.
Class begins with a farm tour and animal feeding, before heading to the outdoor art classroom for some creative fun. Each class will feature a different children’s book read aloud, and used as inspiration for our art project.
We will work in clay, glaze the same day, and then leave the work to be fired in the kiln. All projects will be available for pick up at the next class, or 2 weeks. Consecutive classes are not required.
Intermediate Clay Class (ages 7-14, 1.5- 2 hours)
This Intermediate Clay Class is directed at students age 7 to 14, no experience required. Learn handbuilding techniques, such as coil building, slab building, sculpture techniques in a guided project format. We will glaze our work after bisque fire (next attended class), and kiln fire for the beautiful ceramic result.
Good for beginner clay students or with previous experience.
Consecutive classes not required… learn a new project each class then glaze on an ongoing basis.
Come get muddy On the Farm!
Adult/ Teen Clay Class (ages 13+, 2 hours)
Students are invited to choose their own path in this independent clay class. Pick your project, and we will work through the techniques and tools to achieve your goal. No experience required! Each class is self paced, with clay and glaze available as needed. Project ideas are also available, and new inspiration can be found everywhere!

Farm School
Farm School, (ages 6+, 4 hour drop off program, 6 week sessions)
Our Shaker’s Acres signature class – Farm School! Run in 6 week sessions through the school year, this class embodies homeschool community in our favorite outdoor settings. Wednesdays feature Earth Science, Thursdays feature World Culture Studies, with animal chores, interest based workshop choices, and community building activities.
Farm School JR (ages 6-12, 4 hour drop off a la carte program)
Farm School JR is the lite version of our signature Farm School course… in perfect bite size pieces! Farm School JR is all the fun and learning in our outdoor classrooms, in a smaller group and a la carte classes- low commitment! Animal chores, woods explorations, Ag Science, gardening, and so much more.
Science On the Farm
Science on the Farm – Nature Study (ages 3-8, flexible,1.5 hours)
Explore everyday nature in this hands-on, science heavy Nature Study class. The whole Farm, gardens, and woods are our classroom for art and adventure! Join us for a book, a project, an exploration… every class is a unique experience!
